“Iowa
Gothic on a Century Farm”, the theme for the
2006 Spencer Area Arts Council’s annual
fund-raiser known as Backyard Bach & Blues, was hosted by Kent and Lanette
Kilpatrick on their Century Farm in rural
Spencer on Saturday, July 15 , at 7 pm.
The event was a
fun-filled evening with live music and a County
Fair themed menu that was made
possible by numerous volunteers and several area
restaurants. This year’s event offered a meal
that included appetizers, barbequed pork loin,
grilled chicken and all the fixin’s, a variety
of favorite salads, corn casserole, baked beans,
specialty crafted breads and much more. The menu
was topped off with a
mouth-watering assortment of fresh, home-made
fruit pies.

meal. A variety of beverages were served and included the Bashore’s famous Peach Tea,
lemonade, water, coffee, iced tea, wine donated
by Johnson Brothers Beverages and beer by
Whittenburg Distributors.
